How adoption works

This is the routine we follow here at Cheshire Sighthound Rescue

1. You apply

You will fill out our Application of interest form. This stores your information on our database. This tells us all about you and your lifestyle so we can start matching you to an appropriate dog.

4. You foster

If the meet goes well and everyone is happy, you take the dog on a trial basis. Everyone is different in how long they take, but usually after a month, we will ask if you would like to adopt or not.

2. We get in touch

Once we have assessed a dog and their needs, we use the database information to match an application to them. If you are a match, we will get in contact with you.

5. You adopt

If the dog has settled, you're happy, and we're happy, then congratulations, you can ask us for the adoption paperwork. You will then all live happily ever after!

3. You come and visit

If you like the sound of the dog we have proposed to you, we will arrange for you to come and visit the dog. You may visit the dog a few times if need be.

6. Rescue back-up for life

We are always here for you and your new dog - even years after adopting. If you ever need help or support, your dog will always have a home here with us at Cheshire Sighthound Rescue.
